Players like Nesta Guinness-Walker, Kieran Sadlier, Kyle Wootton, Will Boyle, Liam Cullen, Stuart Findlay and George Thomas have all been credited with potential moves to Fratton Park as manager Danny Cowley looks to add to his squad this month.
But would they make the difference as the Blues turn their attentions to a promotion push over the second half of the season?
Well, we’ve had a look and have come up with a potential Pompey match-day squad if the rumours were true.
As expected, not all of them would make the cut.
However, with a few key additions, Cowley’s options suddenly looks a whole lot better.

9. CAM: Marcus Harness
This campaign Harness has thrived in the number 10 role behind the stickers, where has found form and consistency. Scoring 10 goals this season already, he’s Pompey’s leading goalscorer with his performances catching the eye of Championship clubs. Alongside Curtis and Hirst the trio have rejuvenated the Blues’ attacking threat and continue to be a handful for defenders. Photo: Stephen Flynn

10. ST: Ronan Curtis
A very tough decision to leave George Hirst out, but Ronan Curtis proved on Friday night why he remains a key performer in the attacking third for Pompey. His double against Exeter ended a barren run in front of goal but he has that ability to change a game in an instant. Photo: Stephen Flynn

11. ST: Kyle Wootton
The Notts County man has been strongly linked with a January move to Fratton Park after scoring 14 goals for the National League side so far this season. An all-round striker, he brings pace, strength, ability to hold the ball up as well as the natural ability to find the back of the net - something which recent strikers have failed to do. Ellis Harrison's move to Fleetwood should accelerate Danny Cowley's search for a new striker. Photo: Steve Flynn/AHPIX LTD

12. SUB: Alex Bass
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Alex Bass’ immediate future, with Cowley not ruling out a possible loan exit for the 23-year-old. With Bazunu not likely to return next season, Bass could become the number one next term - so he needs games. But with limited funds and loan spaces, it may be difficult to find a suitable replacement who could play if Bazunu was to pick up an injury. Photo: Dennis Goodwin
