Players like Nesta Guinness-Walker, Kieran Sadlier, Kyle Wootton, Will Boyle, Liam Cullen, Stuart Findlay and George Thomas have all been credited with potential moves to Fratton Park as manager Danny Cowley looks to add to his squad this month.
But would they make the difference as the Blues turn their attentions to a promotion push over the second half of the season?
Well, we’ve had a look and have come up with a potential Pompey match-day squad if the rumours were true.
As expected, not all of them would make the cut.
However, with a few key additions, Cowley’s options suddenly looks a whole lot better.

5. RWB: Mahlon Romeo
Another summer loan acquisition, Mahlon Romeo has become a fans' favourite following his outstanding performances at the right side of defence. He’s been versatile, playing as a right-wing back and a right-back and has again solidified that position as his own. In the current 3-4-1-2 formation he has flourished in the RWB position, leading to high praise from Pompey fans calling for him to sign on a permanent basis. Photo: Dennis Goodwin

6. CM: Joe Morrell
The central midfielder had a slow start to his Pompey career but has been another of Pompey’s solid performers over recent months. He has solidified his place in the midfield when he’s fit and fans have recognised his performances being pivotal for the Blues going forward and defending. Photo: Jason Brown

7. CM: Louis Thompson
Like Morrell, Louis Thompson has been a key all-rounder for Pompey this season. The 27-year-old has been a standout performer in the centre of the park when fit, being recognised by fans for his impressive displays. If he can be keep fit then he would start alongside Morrell in the centre of midfield. Photo: Joe Pepler

8. LWB: Lee Brown
Lee Brown has been a regular at left-back over recent seasons but has struggled with playing as a wing-back. This has led to Reeco Hackett starting in front of him in the team, but due to the youngsters' inconsistency, the 31-year-old makes the cut. There's still time for Cowley to bring in a specialist left wing-back between now and January 31, though, so Brown's place might not be a given! It's one to keep an eye on - but it's unlikely to be Nesta Guinness-Walker. Photo: Dennis Goodwin
