Already, 13 of Pompey’s third-tier rivals have revealed their retained lists ahead of the transfer window officially opening on June 10.
And as speculation grows about potential summer deals, there has been plenty of transfer talk involving League One club’s most prized assets.
The Blues themselves are at risk of losing one of their star men this summer, with Marcus Harness being touted with a move to Championship outfit Swansea.
They’ve also already lost keeper Gavin Bazunu, who made such an impact during his season-long loan from Manchester City.
Given that, we’ve taken a look at the top 20 third-tier aces from this season who could be on the move during the window.
Here’s what we found.

9. Oladapo Afolayan - Bolton
The forward has been clinical in front of goal for Ian Evatt’s side last term - netting 14 times in 51 appearances. Although the 24-year-old penned a three-year deal in 2021, Rangers appear to be lining up a move after his value was revealed. Reports claim the striker had a £1.5m price tag placed on him, with the Scottish giants keen to strike a deal this summer. Photo: Lewis Storey

10. Harry Darling - MK Dons
After impressive performances at the centre of defence last season, the 22-year-old has attracted strong interest from the Championship. A key figure in the Dons’ back line could depart this summer with Russell Martin keen to sign his former centre-back at Swansea. The defender netted 10 times in 44 outings from defence, helping Manning's side reach the play-offs. Photo: Pete Norton

11. Gavin Bazunu - Manchester City (on loan at Pompey)
The stopper’s stock has risen considerably after a standout season between the sticks for Pompey. This term, the 20-year-old kept 17 clean sheets in 46 outings in all competitions. His impressive performances caught the eye of Premier League duo Southampton and Everton as well as Bournemouth and Sheffield United. Photo: Jason Brown

12. Will Boyle - Cheltenham
The Cheltenham centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Fratton Park this summer. After stating his desire to move, Pompey have been joined by Preston in the race to acquire the 26-year-old’s services. Last term the central defender made 33 appearances for Michael Duff’s side, where he scored four goals. Photo: Pete Norton
