Pompey, who were under the leadership of Kenny Jackett, faced Ralph Hassenhuttl’s Premier League Southampton, who sealed a 4-0 triumph. A Danny Ings double and goals from Cedric Soares and Nathan Redmond secured the victory over the League One Blues.
But where is Jackett’s side from that last meeting?

Curtis was the only member of the squad who last faced Southampton in 2019 to appear under Mousinho. The Irishman scored five goals and provided five assists for Port Vale last term, who claimed promotion from League Two. However, he is yet to register any League One goal contributions for the Valiants this season. | Joe Pepler/PinPep

The striker was another member of Jackett’s squad signed during the 2019 summer window, beginning his second spell at Fratton Park. He netted 35 times during a two-and-a-half-year stay on the south coast before joining Bristol Rovers in January 2022. Marquis scored 11 goals for Shrewsbury last season in League One but was unable to avoid the drop and has featured six times in League Two this season. | PinPep Media / Joe Pepler
