The Blues are aiming for successive victories after defeating Charlton Athletic 3-1 at The Valley on Tuesday evening.
And they’re looking to bounce back to success on their own patch following losses to Hull City and Lincoln last month.
Pompey’s automatic promotion push is being hampered by their form at PO4, having also lost to Wigan, Doncaster and Charlton this season.
What’s more, they face a Plymouth side who are unbeaten in their past five league games and recently beat Sunderland on their travels.
Kenny Jackett must weigh up which starting XI he believes will be best to defeat the Pilgrims.
The Blues boss made four changes at The Valley, although James Bolton replacing Jack Whatmough was enforced because of the latter’s suspension.

9. Left-midfield - Michael Jacobs

10. Striker - Marcus Harness
Ellis Harrison's battling at Charlton gave them plenty of problems and it won't be a surprise if he keeps his starting spot. However, Kenny Jackett may look for more of a goalscoring threat at home if Plymouth aim to make it hard for Pompey to break them down. Photo: Joe Pepler

11. Striker - John Marquis
He scored in the reverse fixture at Home Park in November. If Marquis nets again against the Pilgrims, it'll take him to 14 goals for the season - matching his tally for last term. Photo: Joe Pepler
