Tips sticking to normal opening hours despite latest hot weather spell and rising temperatures
Scorching temperatures are returning - but the recycling centres will not be closing early this time
There are currently no plans to reduce the opening hours of Hampshire’s tips in the hot weather.
During last month’s heatwave, temporary changes were brought in at all recycling centres across Hampshire, closing them at 12.30pm.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service, which supplies council stories to The News and other media, asked the local authorities if similar action was going to be taken at its 24 sites this week, which are managed by Veolia UK Limited.
A Hampshire County Council spokesperson said: “There are currently no plans to reduce opening hours or close Hampshire’s household waste recycling centres during the current spell of hot weather.
“We continue to keep the conditions under review and if the situation changes, we would look again at any additional measures that may be needed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers.
“We will, of course, keep residents informed should anything change.”
A number of councils are also starting bin collections at 6am this week as a result of the increasing temperatures.
