Soak up some culture and enjoy a cuppa at the Gosport Art and Tea Trail

The trail will feature over 60 local artists

Gosport will host a new trail this weekend for visitors to appreciate both art and hospitality across the area.

The Art Pack, a collection of seven artists from the South East, have organised the Gosport Art and Tea Trail to allow local artists to display their work and give hospitality businesses across Gosport a boost.

From Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 October more than 30 studios, cafes, and other venues will showcase the work of over 60 artists including both hobbyists and professionals.

Visitors who attend more than three venues will have the chance to enter a prize draw to win a signed book from acclaimed street artist My Dog Sighs.

A spokesperson for The Art Pack said: “We are all incredibly excited to see our vision come to fruition and are overwhelmed by the amount of engagement we've had from both the creative and local community. We really hope people get out and see what amazing talent is in the area and maybe purchase a keepsake or two and a few cups of coffee along the way.

“Between us we've given up many hours of our own time to put this together because we are passionate about Gosport and want to give the people something to be proud of and call their own.

“There is also a real sense of sadness as one of our artists and friend, Gary Moore, sadly passed away this past week. We would like to pay tribute to Gary, a huge supporter and contributor of the local art scene, who's art will still be shown at venue seven on the trail.”

The event will be sponsored by Hampshire Cultural Trust with additional funding from Arts Council England.

Physical copies of the trail route map will be available from Port & Lemon in Stoke Road, the Daily Grind coffee van at the Gosport Ferry Terminal as well as many other participating venues.
