There are so many fun, cool, quirky and unusual places to visit and see in Portsmouth from range from historic monuments to stunning viewpoints - as well as (or course) fabulous attractions.
These are just a few of our favourites:

13. Fort Cumberland
Fort Cumberland is a pentagonal artillery fortification erected to guard the entrance to Langstone Harbour in Eastney. It was sited to protect the Royal Navy Dockyard, by preventing enemy forces from landing in Langstone Harbour and attacking from the landward side. It is home to The Portsmouth Distillery and is accessible to the public on special heritage days - so make sure you book your slot next time the opportunity arises (or it is just a good excuse to go to the distillery!) 14. The Spinnaker Tower
No trip to the city would be complete without a visit to the top of Spinnaker Tower. As well as its fantastic viewing platforms, it also has a glass Sky Walk which sits 1, 100 metres above the harbour. DO look down!! | Marcin Jedrysiak

15. Victoria Park
Vicky Park has had a bit of a revamp of late, and it is the perfect place to escape right in the heart of our city. With picnic areas, a park, cafe and lots of explore, Victoria Park also hosts so many events through the year. Picture: Chris Moorhouse (010624-41) Photo: Chris Moorhouse

16. Hilsea Lines
Hilsea Lines is yet another place in our city which is home to so much of our history. The Earthwork defence dates from 1858-1869 features batteries, magazines and barracks. They are a great place to explore when combined with a walk through Foxes Forest. And don't forget the café at Casemates nearby. (Be aware there are sea defence works in the area so there are temporary restrictions and diversions in place). Photo: Louise Barnett
