With 97 points and just five defeats, it has been a remarkable season for John Mousinho’s men, whose heroics have etched them into Blues folklore.
Here’s our overall ratings and assessment of the 31 first-team players involved in Pompey’s memorable 2023-24 campaign...

21. Ben Stevenson - 7
(10 games, one goal)Recruited to add depth to Pompey's central midfield options, it was such a shame that, when he was needed to be called upon, he was injured. Slotted in nicely in cup competitions and also impressed on his Blues league debut in October's 2-0 win over Port Vale, yet remained well down the pecking order. Composed on the ball, good range of passing and able to dictate play with possession, Stevenson was unlucky to suffer a knee ligament injury in training on the same day as Alex Robertson in January, albeit going more under the radar than the Australian. Despite returning to fitness in the final month of the season, his most recent appearance was on New Year's Day against Stevenage. Photo: Jason Brown

22. Christian Saydee - 8
(42 games, four goals)Former Pompey boss Steve Cotterill predicted the Pompey fans would love Christian Saydee - and how right he was. Recruited as a centre-forward, yet largely employed behind the striker, the youngster's impressive power in possession and willingness to drive at defences immediately caught the eye, although his best performances came off the bench rather than in the starting XI. It took until March to open his League One account and what a crucial goal it was against Oxford United. Hugely encouraging first season at Fratton Park. Photo: Jason Brown

23. Tino Anjorin - 7.5
(14 games, two goals)The talent of Anjorin meant Pompey were prepared to gamble with the Chelsea youngster's long-standing injury issues - with mixed results. After easing him into the side, there was a goal against Gillingham in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy and another in October's fight-back at Reading. However, he sustained a serious hamstring tear at Chesterfield in November and was out for five months. Continued to show glimpses of quality over the last month of the season, including starting at Lincoln, and clearly has plenty of quality on the ball and a bright future - if fit. 24. Myles Peart-Harris - 7
(12 games, two goals)Something of a conundrum, with plenty to like and plenty to frustrate. Turned in one of the outstanding Pompey debuts at Port Vale following his January arrival, but subsequently never came close to those heights again. Full of attacking verve and creativity, but extremely inconsistent and at one point lost his place in Mousinho's squad. Returned for the run-in after impressing in training and opened the scoring at Lincoln, having launched the move from his own penalty area. Very talented but needs to impose himself more on games, while identifying his best position, which isn't as a deep-lying central midfielder. Photo: Jason Brown
