With 97 points and just five defeats, it has been a remarkable season for John Mousinho’s men, whose heroics have etched them into Blues folklore.
Here’s our overall ratings and assessment of the 31 first-team players involved in Pompey’s memorable 2023-24 campaign...

13. Marlon Pack - 9.5
(39 games, 3 goals)The Buckland boy, the former season-ticket holder, the ex-Fratton Park apprentice and now title-winning skipper. What a campaign for The News/Sports Mail's Player of the Season. Handed the captaincy during the pre-season tour to Spain, Pack's natural leadership on and off the pitch has been inspirational, moulding the dressing room into League One champions. Missed nine games after suffering ankle ligament damage at the hands of Charlie Wyke in September at Wigan, yet, remarkably, returned even stronger, playing the best form of his Pompey career and proving instrumental in the push for the title. 14. Joe Morrell - 8.5
(31 games, 0 goals)The Wales international's best football of his Pompey career has arrived under Mousinho, stretching back to last season, and he was another hugely missed through injury. The one-time skipper formed an excellent partnership in the midfield two with either Marlon Pack or Alex Robertson, helping control games and dominate possession, with that customary aggression and tenacity. There were two red cards along the way, while his season cruelly ended early with a knee injury at Oxford in January. Despite continuing to win games in Morrell's absence, the Blues never truly replaced him, which is testament to his previous performances. 15. Alex Robertson - 8
(27 games, 1 goal)A class act from the moment he arrived from Manchester City and inevitably hugely popular among the Fratton faithful. Initially utilised in the number 10 role, it was as a holding midfielder where he truly flourished, operating deeper to receive more of the ball allowing him to dictate. He flourished in the position during Marlon Pack's injury absence from September and wasn't quite so effective when restored as an attacking midfielder. Down to earth, without ego and a popular member of the squad, it was a huge blow when he tore his hamstring in January, ruling the Australian out for the remainder of the campaign. Pompey fans will watch his progress with interest. Photo: Jason Brown

16. Owen Moxon - 7.5
(15 games, 1 goal)Recruited from Carlisle for an undisclosed fee in January, Moxon was soon thrust into the first-team following injury to Joe Morrell, with little time to adjust and acclimatise. Asked to operate in a different playing system and moving away from his native Carlisle for the first time in his life, it has very much been a learning curve for the likeable lad. Still, there have been some eye-catching performances, with highs and lows during appearances. Dynamic, hard-working and full of heart, he's made a favourable impact. That magnificent strike against Derby was not only crucial in the promotion push, it also earned him goal of the season. Photo: Jason Brown
