But moves never materialised for those touted to join John Mousinho’s Blues promotion charge.
With the transfer window now open the Fratton Faithful we’ll be keeping a beady eye out to see if any of these names resurface, with Pompey looking to carry out business.
We’ve looked at who went where and and who could conceivably now be available this month.

9. Harvey Blair
Known that Pompey have been watching the attacking Liverpool youngster and remains the case going into January. Suffered a meniscus tear last July, though, and the view is he's not firing at the level needed to impact the Blues' promotion charge just yet. Photo: Andrew Powell

10. Ossama Ashley
A name which surfaced in June and quickly went away again. Midfielder moved from Colchester to Salford instead, but hasn't played since September when having cardiac checks when feeling chest pain in game. Photo: Jess Hornby

11. Isaak Davies
Pompey, Charlton and Oxford were mentioned with interest in the versatile Cardiff attacking talent in July, but the 22-year-old instead moved to Belgian side Kortrijk where he's hit four goals in 16 appearances. Could be recalled by his parent club, but looks to be getting football under his belt abroad. Photo: Jacques Feeney

12. Matt Macey
Impressed on loan last season with fans clamouring for his signing. A deal never got over the line with Will Norris coming in and making a huge impact. Has since left Luton and and is looking for a club, with the Blues in the market for a back-up keeper. Very doubtful a deal would happen, though, with Macey not content to play second fiddle.
