But moves never materialised for those touted to join John Mousinho’s Blues promotion charge.
With the transfer window now open the Fratton Faithful we’ll be keeping a beady eye out to see if any of these names resurface, with Pompey looking to carry out business.
We’ve looked at who went where and and who could conceivably now be available this month.

13. Lewis Dobbin
Everton attacking talent who was considered last summer after a campaign on loan with Derby. The contribution to wages for a loan deal was way beyond Pompey's reach, however, and has gone on make nine appearances for the Toffees - scoring in the win over Chelsea last month. Photo: PETER POWELL

14. Di'Shon Bernard
Pompey spent a lot of time waiting on the defender last summer, but after staying patient made their move for Regan Poole. Bernard got his move to the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday, where he's now made 17 league starts for the strugglers. Deal runs out next summer but is featuring prominently enough for The Owls. 15. Tommy Leigh
Heavily touted for Pompey in the summer window but a move for the former Priory School student didn't get over the line. Has scored six goals in 24 appearnces for Accrington in League Two this season, and now in the final six months of his existing contract. Wouldn't bet against his name resurfacing now or next summer. 16. Charlie Savage
Pompey were among a stack of clubs including Cardiff, Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday linked with the midfielder. Moved from Manchester United to Reading, where he's played 27 times and scored four goals and is a firmly a part of the Royals set-up. Photo: Jan Kruger
