But moves never materialised for those touted to join John Mousinho’s Blues promotion charge.
With the transfer window now open the Fratton Faithful we’ll be keeping a beady eye out to see if any of these names resurface, with Pompey looking to carry out business.
We’ve looked at who went where and and who could conceivably now be available this month.

5. Dan Agyei
Sixteen goals in League Two for Crewe was said to have aroused Pompey's interest along with Bradford and Burton, but moved to Leyton Orient. A striker who can play wide, where Pompey are looking to strengthen. Fits the profile in terms of pace and power, but only made his debut in November after struggling with injury. Photo: Pete Norton

6. Ruben Rodrigues
Watched closely by Pompey for some time, but moved to Oxford from Notts County, where the Portuguese-born talent has helped himself to six goals. A big part of promotion rival's bid to go up. Photo: CameraSport - Andrew Kearns

7. Lee Bonis
A name which surfaced last April and popped up across the summer. A £300,000 fee was mentioned along with the likes of Blackpool, Wigan and Birmingham being keen. Goals have continued to flow for the Larne man this term. The forward line isn't an area Pompey are looking at with any vigour this month. Photo: Picture: Andrew McCarroll/Pacemaker Press

8. Ali Koiki
Another player Danny Cowley kept an eye on and was mentioned again in June, but Jack Sparkes was the left-back landed and has been a success story for the Blues. Photo: Pete Norton
