What a season it's been for Pompey so far and John Mousinho's squad.
It's been a campaign full of impressive performances for so many different reasons, as players live up to their billing, surprise packages emerge and assets grow.
But who are the players who have shone brightest so far? And who is finding form at just the right moment in the campaigh?
Pompey writer Jordan Cross has given his personal view of John Mousinho's squad with a rating out of 10 (players need to have made at least five appearances to feature).

The ginger Carlos/Cafu/Maldini is now getting the recognition the unsung Pompey hero undoubtedly deserves for his displays at both ends of the pitch. The fact he was the only senior out-of-contract player retained last summer says much about what Mousinho thinks of him - to come back from injury issues at the level we’ve seen is sensational. Making a powerful charge on player-of-the-season plaudits as the Buckland Baller’s impressive form peaks at just the right time. Had his blips and an injury setback, but the Pompey skipper sets standards with his intelligence, positioning and range of passing - and then raises bar with galvanising behaviour and determination to create a winning team spirit | Jason Brown/ProSportsImages

The man Pompey really wanted in January - and it was soon apparent why that was the case with man-of-the-match debut at Port Vale. Form has dipped slightly since, but the feeling is there’s more to come from Brentford man who has arrived from Premier League with none of big-time attitude we’ve seen from some in past - and an appreciation for being part of title charge. 16. Regan Poole - 8
Still hurts that his season is at a close. Looked a short-priced favourite to be Pompey’s player of the season with outstanding form until November. Not only was his defending excellent but also set tempo for attacks with quality and energy on the ball. | National World
