The Blues’ League One promotion push has suffered a blow in their past two games, losing to rivals Hull and Lincoln.
With Pompey harbouring ambitions of a top-two finish, Kenny Jackett must find a way of delivering a result at an Addicks side also hoping to go up automatically.
The boss will be forced to make one change from the Lincoln defeat, with Jack Whatmough suspended for three games after receiving a red card.
But there could be temptation from Jackett to play some of his January recruits from the outset.
George Byers and Charlie Daniels both came off the bench against the Imps and there is growing clamour from sections of supporters for the pair to be given a chance.
Meanwhile, some fans also want to see Jordy Hiwula be given a crack after being left out of the past two squads.

5. Left-back - Lee Brown
There is clamour from fans for Charlie Daniels to start but Brown had a fine game against Lincoln. What's more, Kenny Jackett won't want to juggle his defence too much as he's already forced into one change. Photo: Joe Pepler

6. Right-midfield - Marcus Harness
The mercurial winger has been out of sorts recently and not scored a league goal in more than three months. Assistant-boss Joe Gallen admitted Pompey need to get Harness on the ball more for him to produce his best. Photo: Joe Pepler

7. Centre-midfield - Tom Naylor
Pompey's skipper will be leading from the front in a bid to bounce back to winning ways. Photo: Joe Pepler

8. Centre-midfield - Andy Cannon
The fans' favourite couldn't impact the game as he'd have liked agaisnt Lincoln due to being forced into defensive duties. However, Cannon will be hoping for an influential performance as new-boys George Myers and Harvey White breathing down his neck. Photo: Daniel Chesterton
