Meeting set for update on delayed Waterlooville regeneration plans
The first Waterlooville Town Centre regeneration meeting has been scheduled since news of its delay due to a “funding gap” was announced.
An update on the plans to improve the public realm and other upcoming changes will be presented at Waterlooville Community Centre on Wednesday, May 27 at 7pm. Members of Havant Borough Council’s regeneration team will be on hand to answer any of the public’s questions on the project.
The meeting was announced on the councils’ social media page. The post said: “Hear from the council's Regeneration Team about the upcoming changes and improvements planned, learn more about the public realm improvements and share your thoughts and feedback directly with the team. This is a free, nonticketed event. We look forward to seeing you there.”

It was confirmed in January that there was a “funding gap” for the regeneration work which meant that progress on the project had slowed. Work to draw up a Masterplan started in early 2024 with progress made on the improvement of Wellington Way by developers Questmap.
However, work on the public realm improvements have not yet started despite the public being given the option to choose their preferred design in February 2025. The improvements included new seating, greenery, and better accessibility to create a “safer, more attractive and welcoming space for residents, visitors, and businesses”.
Following detailed design work the overall project costs led to a shortage of funds. As such further funding was allocated by the council in February as part of its budget.
Work is now expected to start in 2027.
