Viet Pot and Bar opens in Southsea offering 'phenomenal and authentic' Vietnamese cuisine

The restaurant offers traditional dishes like pho and mango salad

A new restaurant has opened in Castle Road promising truly authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the heart of Southsea.

Viet Pot and Bar opened only a few weeks ago, but manager Mike Gibson told The News the restaurant has already had repeat customers.

“We’ve got two amazing chefs in the kitchen making pure Vietnamese food, fantastic, phenomenal food,” he said. “It’s something else, that’s the only way to describe it.

“We wanted purely traditional food, like how the chefs make it at home, it’s more authentic.”

The restaurant offers ‘family’ portions of Vietnamese dishes like pho, mango salad and pineapple fried rice.

“You definitely get what you pay for,” said Mike. “It’s very rare I take away a fully empty plate.”

They also have an extensive selection of drinks, including wine, beers and cocktails as well as coffee.

The restaurant is open from 11am, Tuesday to Sunday.
