New data reveals this Hampshire city is the cheapest place to get a Chinese takeaway
Did somebody order a Chinese?
Over a quarter of Brits favour a Chinese takeaway over all other options - and this Hampshire city is the most affordable place to get your hands on the cuisine.
New research, conducted by Aqua, has revealed that Portsmouth is the cheapest city to get a Chinese takeaway in the country, with the average price of chicken chow mein sitting at £7.88.

In second place was Stoke-on-Trent, followed by Coventry, Peterborough and Milton Keynes.
Scott Yule, commercial strategy director at Aqua, said: “The UK’s love of takeaways is clear, with the average adult spending around £54 a month, and over a quarter spending more on them than on commuting to work.
“But with 59 per cent of Brits already cutting back due to rising costs, there are simple ways to help stretch the budget further.”
The data was established by analysing the cost of a chicken chow mein on Uber Eats at the top five rated restaurants open on a Friday night at 7pm.
