A look inside the new sports bar opening above The Exchange in Waterlooville

New bar features 100 inch screens and pool tables

A new sports bar in Waterlooville is edging closer to completion as work continues to turn it into a unique venue for the area.

The bar will be opening above The Exchange in the town centre and boasts number of large televisions, pool tables, dart boards and a shuffleboard. Once opened it will have two private rooms which can be booked for karaoke or to watch the latest big sporting event with a dedicated waitress.

The News had a sneak peek at the venue which is expected to open around November and be called Koyes Khan. While it is situated above The Exchange, and run by the same owners, they will be two separate venues.

Kas said: “It is going to be a place for people to hang out in Waterlooville. When we opened downstairs, while it has been popular, it is not what everyone expected it to be as some people hoped it would be like Kassia where they could have a DJ and a dance. Downstairs is set up as a restaurant but this is designed as a bar.”

The new bar will also be available for private hire with Kas wanting to make it available to local people “without the premium cost”. It will also be a members only bar after 9pm.

Kas said: “I want people to feel comfortable drinking and having fun here. That is why we are calling it a members bar, because after 9pm we are not going to allow people in that we don’t know or who are not members. Ultimately, if you want to come in and you behave that is fine but we want some control.”

The structure for the paid membership is still being worked out but members will be given reduced drink prices.
