'Step into paradise': New era for former Botanicals site in Port Solent as opening date revealed for trendy Tiki bar
Aloha - Cocktails and party vibes are on the cards at a new Tiki bar which has revealed its open date is right around the corner.
The former Botanical site in Port Solent, which closed last July due to an unresolved dispute with the landlord, is currently being transformed into a sandy paradise, where cocktails and party vibes meet all things Tiki as Dan and Calvin Swan, prepare to launch their latest endeavour - Mahina Port Solent.

This comes after the pair, who run the Hampshire Pub Co, announced the closure of Ripper and Co, in Osborne Road, in order to focus their “time, energy and attention” on the new venue, which will open on Friday, April 10.
In a previous statement, the owners said the decision to close the immersive horror-themed bar was not a reflection of performance and that it has “been a hugely loved part” of the company, which is formed of three Rapscallions’ venues in Portsmouth, Port Solent and Chichester, and the Bird in Hand in Lovedean.
A post on Mahina’s Facebook page says: “The gods have awakened… As the sun rises upon Mahina, under the watch of the ancient tiki spirits, a new era begins. Step into a world of elevated cocktails, island decadence and late night energy where the gods don’t just watch… they host.
“Prepare yourself, you’re about to step into paradise.”
The new themed bar will feature Tiki booths, live music, bottomless brunch, VIP party packages and more, with online booking going live from 7pm on April 2.
