After eyeing up the site of Ben and Shelley’s Ice Cream Parlour Ryan Kendell and business partner, Charlotte Atkins, are now gearing up to welcome their first customers through the doors this weekend after taking on the site.
The pair, who already collectively run a number of food venues at Funland, have accumulated decades of catering experience between them and have said they are “excited” to launch their latest endeavour - Scoop’d.
“The ice cream parlour used to be Ben and Shelley’s so we are both really excited to take over and do it up - we have both been in the catering industry for years so it felt like the time for something new. It was a successful ice cream parlour before and I’ve been told it is a busy corner with lots of stuff to do.”
The duo have spent the last two weeks giving the site a facelift with a fresh lick of paint, new signage and funky decor in time for the parlour’s launch on Saturday, February 14 from 10.30am.
“We’ve been painting every night, getting the stickers designed, getting the stock in - It’s been a two week turn around but we’ve done it”, Charlotte explained.
She continued: “We can’t wait. On Hayling everyone knows everyone but we’ve had really good feedback and everyone’s looking forward to it and we can’t wait to see everyone, it’ll be great.”
