Spectacular fireworks display returning to Cowes Week - where and when can I see them from Lee-on-the-Solent
It’s the first time the fireworks have returned in seven years
A magnificent fireworks display can be seen from across the Solent.
Bright colours from rockets and other pyrotechnics will light up the sky to celebrate Cowes Week on the Isle of Wight. The display, taking place tonight at 9.30pm, is returning for the first time in seven years.
A statement said: “North Sails Cowes Week are bringing back the iconic fireworks - you asked and we delivered. The display will close a historic week of racing, celebration and shoreside entertainment, lighting up the Solent as competitors and spectators come together to celebrate 200 years of Cowes Week. We hope you're as excited as we are.”
If you’re on the Isle of Wight itself, Solent Cruises are running boats from the parade in Cowes so you can get up close to the display. Boarding is scheduled for 7pm and tickets can be booked online.
Where can I see them on the mainland?
With the fireworks display taking place in the Solent off Cowes, the coasts of Lee-on-the-Solent and Stubbington will provide the clearest view of the fireworks.
Open areas including Lee-on-the-Solent beach, Stokes Bay, and Hill Head beach, will be some of the best spots.
