Portsmouth and the surrounding areas have a number of fantastic events ready to get people in the festive spirit.

Here is a list of all the local events announced to be taking place, or that have taken place, over the next month.
5. Gosport
There will a full day of festivities in Gosport High Street on Saturday, November 29 starting with a market at 10am. The Christmas light switch on is scheduled for 6pm but could be subject to change. | Sam Stephenson
6. Portchester
The Christmas Fair and Light Switch on in Portchester Precinct will be taking place on Saturday, December 6 between 2pm and 5.30pm. There will be lots of musical entertainment and a visit from Father Christmas himself! | Sarah Standing
7. Whiteley
