Fareham and Holly Hill leisure centres to hold open days with free activities

Two leisure centres are offering free activities as part of their family fun days this weekend.

On Saturday Fareham Leisure Centre and Holly Hill Leisure Centre in Sarisbury Green will open from 10am to 4pm to offer free sessions for people of all ages. Both are managed by Everyone Active for Fareham Borough Council.

The day also marks Holy Hill’s 10th anniversary. Since opening in 2016, Holly Hill Leisure Centre has seen about 6.5m visitors, and run more than 800,000 swimming lessons, 1.3m swimming sessions, 1.6m gym sessions and more than 1m group exercise attendances.

Ryan Grant, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the community to both Fareham Leisure Centre and Holly Hill Leisure Centre for a fantastic day of free activities, as we celebrate Holly Hill Leisure Centre’s 10-year anniversary.

“Over the past decade, Holly Hill Leisure Centre has welcomed millions of customers and become a real hub for the local community. We're incredibly proud of everything the centre has achieved through our successful partnership with Fareham Borough Council, from helping thousands of people become more active to investing in the facilities and building strong relationships with local schools and community groups.

“We look forward to celebrating this milestone and welcoming both existing and new customers to experience everything our leisure centres have to offer.”

Councillor Frair Burgess, executive member for leisure and community at Fareham Borough Council, added: “These open days sound like fantastic fun and a great way for all the family to come and see and try out some of the incredible facilities at Holly Hill and Fareham Leisure Centres. I am also truly impressed with how much impact Holly Hill Leisure Centre has had in the community over the last 10 years and look forward to seeing both facilities thrive long into the future.”

Holly Hill has 7,000 members and saw a gym refurbishment in 2024 and a plant room refurbishment in 2025. On Saturday Holly Hill Leisure Centre will offer free gym access, group exercise sessions, public and family swimming, inflatable pool sessions, Active Antz, Battle Zone, face painting, giant outdoor bouncy castles, an outdoor obstacle course and a community market featuring local stallholders.

Fareham Leisure Centre will offer free gym access, group exercise sessions, public and family swimming, inflatable pool sessions, badminton and pickleball taster sessions, gymnastics (ages four and over), martial arts, Battle Zone, roller skating, Little Kickers football coaching, holiday camp taster sessions and access to its brand-new soft play area.
