Fareham Leisure Centre soft play reopens after £200,000 revamp by Everyone Active

An enlarged soft play centre has opened after a £200,000 upgrade.

Fareham Leisure Centre has reopened the children’s attraction after it was closed for a couple of months. The existing climbing wall, which was installed when the centre was revamped in 2021 has been removed and the soft play has been expanded, with laser tag also brought in.

The work has been done by Everyone Active, which runs the leisure centre for Fareham Borough Council.

The new soft play includes:

• A multi-level adventure play structure
• A range of obstacle-style elements including rollers, bash bags, climbing frames and rope bridges
• A 3.6m drop slide alongside a spiral slide
• Interactive play features such as a mirror maze and musical play panels
• Suspended and balance challenges including floating trails and cargo bridges
• A dedicated under threes' area with a twin-lane slide, ball pool and age-appropriate play equipment
• Sensory play elements including light and sound panels, fibre optics and interactive floor features
• Interactive trampolines offering an additional active play experience

Ryan Grant, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: "We're thrilled to officially open our fantastic new soft play facility at Fareham Leisure Centre. This exciting new space has been designed to encourage active, imaginative play, while providing an inclusive environment for children of all ages. We can't wait to see families making the most of everything the new facility has to offer."

Councillor Frair Burgess, executive member for leisure and community at Fareham Borough Council, said: “The new soft play facilities at Fareham Leisure Centre are really impressive and second to none in the area.

“These facilities are incredibly popular with families with young children, and this additional investment will ensure that children from a wider range of age groups can benefit from the inclusive, state-of-the-art and, most important, fun new space.”
