From Comic Con to the kite festival, from the Great South Run to Beach Dubbin, there are plenty to choose from - with the city also expected to play its part in commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Many more dates will be added to our calendars in the coming months as more and more event details are confirmed, but here are some of the biggest and best events we are most looking forward to this year:
17. Victorious Festival
Taking place in Southsea on August 22, 23 and 24 the three-day event is one of the biggest and best our city has to offer. The festival features music, comedy, food and drink and children's activities to make sure there is something for everyone. 18. Gosport Sunset Festival

19. Great South Run

20. Oktoberfest
The iconic Oktoberfest is expected to return to Portsmouth in at the Portsmouth Guildhall in 2025. Oktoberfest offers a selection of traditional German Bier that can be served in up to 2 pint steins, that customers can choose to take home. Dates have not yet been confirmed - so watch this space!
