Averil Branson has released a new collection of 26 short stories
A local writer has successfully launched her new book, a collection of short stories of different genres, in Gosport.
Averil Branson has written three novels, but her fourth release ‘Windmills of my Mind” is a collection of 26 short stories which she says “covers all sorts of tastes, from spooky to naughty and funny stories”.
“I just had a lot of ideas for short stories,” she said. “I belong to a writers group so I am writing all the time.”
She draws a lot of inspiration for the stories from her own experiences, saying that some of the stories are simply “my life with different characters”.
The book launch took place last Tuesday in Your Space in Gosport, and was a great success.
“I sold 11 books,” said Ms Branson. “It went really well, I am really pleased.”
“I have got about 10 stories for the next book, for Windmills of my Mind Two,” she said, and expects to release the next book in about 18 months.
“I’m sticking with short stories at the moment,” she said.
“I like to have the different characters because sometimes I can get a bit bored. Some of the characters I am sad to say goodbye to.”
