Louisiana fast food joint Popeyes to open in Portsmouth city centre with new signage spotted
The high street is set to welcome a new fast food joint
Signage for a popular fried chicken chain has appeared in a city high street with the site due to ‘open soon’.
Commercial Road, Portsmouth, is set to welcome a new addition in the form of Popeyes, with signage confirming the popular American fast food chain will be joining the city’s main high street.
Scaffolding is currently at the location with external posters advertising for staff including team members. The new location comes after the chain, which was established in Louisiana in 1972, confirmed ambitious expansion plans across the UK after it was reported it had secured a £43 million loan with Barclays Corporate Banking to enable the launch of 45 more sites last year.
In the UK, Popeyes operates more than 100 locations after its first location opened in London back in 2021. Since then, the business has opened venues in Brighton, Woolwich, Basingstoke, Croydon and more.
