Hayling Island ferry service suspended due to overworked staff

The ferry service will be suspended on Sunday and Monday

The Hayling Island ferry service will not be running on Sunday or Monday this week as ferry service apologises to customers.

The boat service posted on Facebook that the ferry between Eastney Point and Hayling Island will be suspended on October 4 and October 5.

The company stated the reason for the suspension of the service is due to staff needing a break.

The post said: “The ferry service is cancelled this Sunday 4th and Monday 5th October with Colin needing a 2 day break after working 26 days consecutively.

“Relief skipper John has been off with a health issue for some while and we send him our best wishes.

“Apologies for the break in service - Colin will be back on Tuesday 6th with the Ferry operating to timetable.”
