Collaboration between care home and pub on Hayling Island

Wimborne Care Home on Hayling Island is known for reaching out and working with other businesses on Hayling. As a very Community minded Care Home they delight in bringing smiles, knowledge and connection with the wonderful individuals who make our very special Island and to others beyond the bridge.

The Ferry Boat Inn on Hayling is such a connection. Their team are likewise as passionate about making a difference and bringing the very best to their customers and visitors. So, Wednesday 30th September was another such opportunity. The new team at The Ferry Boat Inn are making a powerful difference to the fantastic food offerings available throughout Hayling. With a diverse and appreciative audience for their daily changing menu it was felt to be a great opportunity to offer something else; different and important. A Dementia Awareness Talk.

Nikki Shepherd, the Home Services Advisor at Wimborne was previously a Specialist Dementia Coach and Educator for the NHS. Now through her Wimborne role she is able to offer Awareness and Information talks to any local business who is keen to learn or share such with their own clients and staff. In 90 minutes she can convey a greater insight into the challenges, behaviours and support available to help all those affected by dementia.
