Sporting director Rich Hughes has admitted at least nine new arrivals will walk through the Fratton Park doors in the coming months has he and head coach John Mousinho look to put their stamp on the current first team.
The aim will be to construct a squad that’s capable of finally ending what will be seven consecutive seasons in League One.
So expectations will be high when business can officially be completed upon the window opening on June 10.
But apart from a host of new names calling Fratton Park home, what else has been said in the build-up to this summer?
Well, we’ve taken a look back at our recent conversations with the Blues’ key recruitment people to see actually what lies await.
Understandably, a range of key topics have been discussed as we’ve sought greater insight into Pompey’s plans.
Here’s a recap of what’s been said on those core issues.

13. Jay Mingi contract offer
John Mousinho: ‘It (contract offer) won’t be indefinite by any means, we can’t keep a contract open forever because we need to know what our squad looks like for pre-season. We won't be withdrawing Jay’s contract, it will be on the table until the deadline is set and, at that point, if we can’t agree on everything, we’ll shake on it. That’s absolutely fine, no problem.’ Photo: Jason Brown

14. Joe Pigott
John Mousinho: ‘I don’t know what Ipswich’s plans are for Joe next year. I’ve asked him to let us know what that looks like. I don’t know if they want to loan him out or possibly see if there's a permanent deal out there for him. But we would be interested in bringing him back and I’ve had a conversation to Joe about that. It’s going to be a case of finances and what he wants to do. We really, really value what he did for us this season – and I’ve told him that. I thought he was excellent. He’ll now have interest from clubs that will want to play him for 46 games next year, but that probably isn’t the case here because of how well Colby has done. We want to be honest with Joe about that.’ Photo: Jason Brown

15. Ronan Curtis' future
John Mousinho: ‘Talks are ongoing with Ronan. We wanted to focus on Ronan’s surgery and rehab over the back end of the season. He came in the back end of last week and we had discussions with Ronan and said, from my point view, what I think of Ronan and there will be a contract offer on the table. Then it’s down to the agent and football club to negotiate what that is. So that’s ongoing and I think Ronan has gone back to Ireland to spend a bit of time with his family. He’s there for a couple of weeks and that’s great, because he needs to be back there and his agent can take care of everything else. So hopefully we have a bit of good news over the next couple of weeks with Ronan.’ Photo: Jason Brown

16. Tommy Leigh interest
John Mousinho: ‘There still hasn’t been any contact made. I’m not entirely sure how long we’ll wait. Players are out of the country and clubs are sorting retained and released lists, but we genuinely haven’t pursued anything on that at the moment.’ Photo: Bruce Rollinson
