Despite this, Danny Cowley has a clear idea what attributes he wants from the four forwards he desperately wants this summer.
As a result, we’ve examined the stats from last season to see which front men would be the perfect fit for the Blues.
But who are they?
Here’s who we’ve selected from with the help of Wyscout’s statistics
9. Kyle Joseph – Swansea
Another Swan who was on loan in League One last season, Joseph proved himself as a viable option for Cowley while at Cheltenham. He scored four goals during the first half of the season before returning to Wales and has the pace to fit the profile the Blues want. Picture: Alex Davidson/Getty Images Photo: Alex Davidson
10. Folarin Balogun – Arsenal
Another player with pace and a goal scoring touch, Balogun shone on loan at Middlesbrough last season. As a result, a move to League One looks highly unlikely but could Pompey pull off a potential coup for the striker who netted five times in 2021-22?
