But what does the future hold for those who see their existing deals come to a close?
We’ve assessed the likely outcomes for those who see their contracts at an end this term.

13. Jay Mingi
Really tough one to call. Will undoubtedly be one of the players on a smaller wage and will probably want improvements to his terms to stay, after gaining momentum at the end of last year. The likes of Huddersfield, West Brom and Birmingham have been mentioned as potential suitors, but it's a stretch to see the likeable Londoner getting much playing time in the Championship. John Mousinho has called for consistency and will assess Mingi between now and the summer. Has indicated he wants to stay, but his future would likely depend on finding common ground on new terms, otherwise it's a parting of ways and some training compensation for Pompey. Verdict: Stay. 14. Harry Jewitt-White
The closest of the current crop of homegrown players to the first team. The Wales age-group international got his league debut off the bench against Peterborough in January after spending time out on loan at Gosport. Pompey have an option on his deal to allow the midfielder to continue his development next term. Verdict: Stay. Photo: Jason Brown
