Sam Hudson’s side twice fought back after falling behind against a talented Category 1 team which reached the final last season, losing to Manchester City.
Eventually the Blues were undone in the 102nd minute of extra-time as the visitors secured a 3-2 win – and here are our player ratings...
9. Chinedu Agu - 7
(Replaced by Connor May on 72 mins) So much energy. Led the press superbly and covered so much ground for the team. Photo: Jason Brown
10. Harry Clout - 8
(Replaced by Fraser Thomas on 108 mins) - Back from injury, he was a lively figure on the left and always a threat. His determination created Pompey’s leveller, dispossessing Vincent inside the box with Singerr finishing after his shot was saved. Photo: Jason Brown
11. Tayo Singerr - 8 - MOM
The first-year scholar is the Academy’s leading scorer this season and he made it 13 goals with a poacher’s finish to level at 1-1 after Clout’s shot was initially saved. Mobile, hard-working and looks to have something about him. Photo: Jason Brown
12. Nathaniel Chioma - 6
(Replaced Jermaine Osifo on 46 mins) Showed good pace and commitment down the right flank, never stopping chasing and always willing to defend. Photo: Jason Brown
