A lack of goals up front means alterations are needed in that department– even though the Blues are returning home for the first time in a month and will have the backing of the Fratton faithful.
But it’s not just in attack where changes could be made.
The midfield could see things freshened up, while Cowley could also be tempted to play around with his defence.
Here’s how we think the Blues could line up tomorrow against the U’s, with four changes made to the side that lost 1-0 at MK Dons.

9. Attacking midfielder - Miguel Azeez
Pompey fans are yet to see the Arsenal loanee in action - but that could change with the visit of Cambridge. Danny Cowley could freshen up his midfield for the U's and Azeez could provide the spark required further forward with his dynamism, passing and eye for a spectacular goal. Some might see it harsh in throwing him straight into the starting XI - but his quality is why the head coach brought him here in the first place. It needs to be utilised. Photo: JPIMedia

10. Left-wing - Ronan Curtis
The winger was a surprise omission last time out against MK Dons. He livened up the Blues' attack following his second half introduction but it wasn't enough to help Pompey avoid defeat. Is yet to score this season or even provide an assist despite plenty of effort. That effort, though, needs to be replaced with a greater threat and potency in the final third, which we all know he can provide. Photo: JPIMedia

11. Striker - Ellis Harrison
Saturday could be the day Harrison finally gets his chance to lead the line. It's been mooted that he wasn't exactly fit enough to start against MK Dons following his hat-trick at AFC Wimbledon four days earlier. But with another week of training under his belt, and John Marquis substituted yet against at Stadium MK, surely Harrison will get the nod for the visit of the U's. Photo: JPIMedia
