A lack of goals up front means alterations are needed in that department– even though the Blues are returning home for the first time in a month and will have the backing of the Fratton faithful.
But it’s not just in attack where changes could be made.
The midfield could see things freshened up, while Cowley could also be tempted to play around with his defence.
Here’s how we think the Blues could line up tomorrow against the U’s, with four changes made to the side that lost 1-0 at MK Dons.

5. Left-back - Lee Brown
The left-back should continue to get the nod over Connor Ogilvie. His eagerness to get forward and link up play with Ronan Curits down the left could be vital in unlocking the Cambridge defence. Photo: JPIMedia

6. Central midfield - Shaun Williams
The veteran has been key in helping to protect Pompey's goal, and while there's a chance Danny Cowley might freshen up his midfield in a bid to help the side out offensively, the Irishman could get the nod over Joe Morrell who has so far struggled so show why the head coach was desperate to get him down to Fratton Park. 7. Central Midfield - Ryan Tunnicliffe
Pompey's chief goal creator so far this season has struggled in recent weeks. That could be down to a more advanced role he's been asked to play - a change which hasn't exactly paid off. Tunnicliffe could, however, revert back to the No8 role he's more accustomed to and allow someone else to play further forward. Photo: JPIMedia

8. Right-wing - Marcus Harness
Danny Cowley was not afraid to drop below-form Ronan Curtis at MK Dons last week - and the same could apply with Harness, who continues to struggle to find his best form. Wing-back Mahlon Romeo's versatility could see him apply pressure. But he's need further back at the moment - so Harness could be saved on this occasion due to a lack of creditable alternatives.
