It’s a staggering statistic the Blues are keen to address as they seek to recruit their first permanent stopper since Craig MacGillivray departed in the summer of 2021.

9. Matt Macey (January-May 2023)
Arrived in January with little fanfare and few fan expectations to replace Josh Griffiths, but the Luton loanee swiftly impressed. A towering presence and excellent shot-stopper, Macey went on to make 21 appearances and impressed sufficiently for Pompey to explore a permanent deal. Still contracted to Premier League newcomers Luton for another 12 months, it remains to be seen whether the Blues can bring him back to Fratton Park this summer long-term.
