It has been an exile which has brought plenty of heartache and even threats to the Blues’ very existence, yet also plenty of wonderful moments which are still savoured to this very day.
So here’s a list of the 15 most memorable Pompey matches since leaving the Championship – in no particular order...

9. Pompey 3 Sheffield United 0 (April 20, 2013)
Just 24 hours after Portsmouth Supporters' Trust ownership was officially rubber stamped, saving Pompey from liquidation, the Blues hosted Sheffield United in a carnival atmosphere. A glorious south-coast day, Brazilian dancing girls, a 3-0 victory - and played in front of the biggest Fratton Park attendance of the season, with 18,433 present. 10. Norwich City 0 Pompey 1 (January 5, 2019)
League One leaders Pompey were handed a trip to Championship high-fliers Norwich in the FA Cup third round - and an upset followed. Andre Green grabbed a stoppage-time winner against the 10-man hosts to secure a dramatic victory, followed by the players celebrating in front of the travelling fans amid memorable scenes. 11. Pompey 3 Dagenham & Redbridge 0 (August 8, 2015)
Paul Cook's Pompey era kicked off in tantalising fashion with a stunning performance in the glorious south-coast sunshine. Debutants Kyle Bennett (two) and Gareth Evans netted in a 3-0 success, while Ben Davies became an instant favourite after running more than half the length of the pitch to close down the opposition goalkeeper. After finishing the lowest position in Pompey's history the previous season, it cranked up the optimism that this new regime could prove a success. Picture: Joe Pepler Photo: Joe Pepler

12. Pompey 2 Wigan 1 (April 2, 2018)
Former Pompey boss Paul Cook made his Fratton Park return with Wigan - the club he walked out for and now firmly on course to win the League One title. However, Kenny Jackett's men produced a surprise to inflict a 2-1 success through goals from Jamal Lowe and Brett Pitman. It marked a miserable reunion for Cook amid a wonderful Fratton atmosphere.
