Portsmouth relegation rivals plot audacious move for Champions League ace as Charlton Athletic reject £3.5m Premier League bid
The latest transfer headlines involving Pompey’s Championship rivals.
Business is ramping up at Fratton Park and across the Championship as clubs continue to strengthen before the February 2 deadline.
The Blues have already been busy, with the arrivals of Millenic Alli on loan from Luton Town and the permanent capture of Derby County’s Ebou Adams.
Incoming’s aren’t expected to stop there for John Mousinho’s men, who are still looking to strengthen the forward line this month.
While there is plenty more business to complete between now and February 2 on the south coast, the Blues’ Championship rivals are also looking to be busy in the final knockings of the window.
Here are the latest transfer headlines from across the second-tier.
Canaries swoop for striker
Pompey’s relegation rivals Norwich City are eyeing a move for Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh, according to reports.
The Telegraph's Mike McGrath has revealed the Canaries are plotting an audacious swoop to land the 25-year-old as his stoke rises in Denmark.
The report has claimed Phillipe Clement’s side have placed a bid for the high-rated frontman, although a fee has yet to be disclosed.
High was in outstanding form during the 2025 Eliteserien campaign, which saw him net 17 goals and register six assists in 28 matches in the Danish top flight.
His goals propelled Glimt into this season’s Champions League and has scored one goal and provided one assist in eight appearances so far.
McGrath has suggested the former Denmark youth international is in line to feature against Manchester City, who make the trip to the Aspmyra Stadium this evening.
The Canaries remain firm on their stance that the USMNT international is not for sale, but has been exiled from their previous two squads.
Clement’s men sit one point and one play behind Pompey in the standings, with the Blues set to make the trip to Suffolk in April.
Charlton turn down Brighton bid

Charlton Athletic are said to have turned down two offers from Premier League outfit Brighton for young talent Micah Mbick.
That’s according to The Athletic, who have revealed the Addicks have rejected the Seagulls’ latest bid which is believed to be £3.5m.
The article has suggested Fabian Hurzeler’s men are weighing up a third bid to land the 19-year-old, who has impressed at youth level in south London.
The striker has risen through the ranks at The Valley and was handed his senior debut in the FA Cup, aged 17.
Mbick has totalled eight appearances for Charlton but has flourished in League Two for Colchester United this term, scoring eight goals to date.
This has attracted top-flight suitors, with Brighton believed to be keen to land the teenage sensation on a permanent basis.
