New boss Frank Lampard brings his side to PO4 after succeeding Mark Robins at the end of November.
Pompey have fitness and form issues to contend with going into the game, at the start of five fixtures in 16 days.
Here’s how we think John Mousinho’s side will line up ahead of the clash.
5. CB Ryley Towler
Is it time for Towler to come in for the cold. Tom McIntyre's struggles make it a consideration but it's certainly a massively tight call with Mousinho indicating the former Bristol City man will likely go out on loan in the new year. Photo: Jason Brown
6. LB: Connor Ogilvie
Generally decent form of late but was partly culpable for the fourth goal at Derby. | National World
7. CM Andre Dozzell
Challenge remains for the same for the midfielder as it has for most of the season - to take his quiet efficiency up a couple of gears and take the midfield by the scruff of the neck. Photo: Jason Brown
8. CM Freddie Potts
