Does he keep faith with a side that battled back so impressively to get a draw out of Saturday’s trip to Hul? Or does he freshen his side up for the second of successive away games four days apart?
The way the Blues have started both their midweek Championship games this season against Stoke and Cardiff respectively suggests the latter might be the best approach. Indeed, Pompey’s two worst performances of the season so far came at the bet365 and City of Cardiff stadiums.
Yet Mousinho admitted on Monday that there’s a different vibe in his ranks ahead of the Plymouth game and that Saturday’s second-half performance at Hull has provided momentum that he’s keen to make the most of.
That suggests changes will be kept to a minimum - or even just the one as the Blues look to get a result against a Plymouth squad dealing with a host of injuries and on currnetly a run of three defeats from four games.
So what can we expected selection-wise tonight? Well, this is how we believe the Blues will line up at Home Park.

5. Centre-back 2 - Tom McIntyre
The former Reading man produced a more reassuring display during the draw against Hull after a couple of below-par outings. McIntyre has Ryley Towler breathing down his neck and ready to step in when needed. John Mousinho will be worried about the centre-back's work load - but if a change in the central defensive areas was going to happen, it would have done so by now - not after that encouraging result at Hull. | National World

6. Left-back - Connor Ogilvie
The defender put in a reliable performance against Hull. But another goal conceded emanating down the Blues' left-hand side will be a concern - especially as there's no automatic choice to fill in there at present if Ogilvie needs a rest from the step up to Championship football. | National World

7. Central midfield 1 - Freddie Potts
The on-loan West Ham youngster is steadily making his presence felt in the centre of the Blues' midfield. Was so efficient against Hull. | National World

8. Central midfield 2 - Andre Dozzell
The midfielder quietly goes about his job and often goes under the radar. Everyone is expecting John Mousinho to automatically hand Marlon Pack back his starting place after being benched for the past two games. Back-to-back away games within four days raises that possibility - but Dozzell has perhaps just done enough to keep the skipper on the sidelines for another game. | National World
