What a season it's been for Pompey so far and John Mousinho's squad.
It's been a campaign full of impressive performances for so many different reasons, as players live up to their billing, surprise packages emerge and assets grow.
But who are the players who have shone brightest so far? And who is finding form at just the right moment in the campaigh?
Pompey writer Jordan Cross has given his personal view of John Mousinho's squad with a rating out of 10 (players need to have made at least five appearances to feature).
5. Terry Devlin - 7
Took his time to adjust to English football but was making some important contributions and firmly in Mousinho's thinking before shoulder injury curtailed season. Even looked at home when operating as a right-back. | Jason Brown/ProSportsImages
6. Abu Kamara - 8
What a find! Norwich loanee took him time to settle in a wide position he was not accustomed to and even faced a little flak, but form since back end of the year has been excellent with eight goals, seven assists and driving running putting defences on back foot. Photo: Jason Brown
7. Paddy Lane - 9
Wow, what a player Pompey have on their hands - that much is clear a year into his Fratton stay. Eleven goals and seven assists to his name with confidence thriving amid four goals in the past five. Now a huge Blues asset. Photo: Jason Brown
8. Callum Lang - 8
Instant impact from January arrival from Wigan who has brought a spark at a crucial moment. Infectious energy has rubbed off on those around him as the 25-year-old Scouser has helped himself to three goals and as many assists already. Supplemented attack perfectly at just the right moment.
