The Blues have developed some sizable Championship assets now, while John Mousinho has indicated ‘significant figures’ will need to be spent if the club are to progress at the level.
So we’ve assessed five players who, for one reason or another, may well be best suited to moving on in the months ahead - and five who need to remain come the close of the summer window.

2. Marlon Pack
The skipper’s homecoming will stretch into a fifth season, with Pack already agreeing a new 12-month deal with his hometown club. The Buckland boy’s professionalism sets the standard for those around him, both on and off the pitch, but few would’ve anticipated quite how much football Pack would contribute last term. 3. Josh Murphy
Josh Murphy’s return from what was expected to be a season-ending foot injury at the season’s climax gave us a reminder of what we’d been missing. The demand is the key man now keeps himself fit next term to maximise his ridiculous crossing ability and goal contribution threat. At 31, his market value isn’t getting any higher, so it makes no sense to cash in on Pompey’s best attacking option. | The News

4. Ebou Adams
What a piece of business the £500,000 January signing proved to be. Adams did as much as anyone to keep Pompey in the Championship, with his dominant midfield displays raising the bar in the middle of the park. The combative midfielder is fundamental to how things look moving forward, the first name on the team-sheet going into the new campaign. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
