After a quiet start to the summer, Pompey have kick-started their business with the arrival of Adrian Segecic.
The Australian under-23’s international becomes the Blues’ first signing of the window, penning a three-year deal at Fratton Park.
John Mousinho’s men paid a substantial compensation fee for the 21-year-old’s services following his departure from Sydney FC.
Although one new face has come through the doors at PO4, there has also been one emotional departure. Christian Saydee’s two-year stay on the south coast came to an end on Thursday after he made the switch to Wigan Athletic.
With plenty of incomings and outgoings expected over the remainder of the window, it’s still poised to be a busy summer as Pompey prepare for their second-successive Championship campaign.
But what still needs to be done?
Well, we’ve taken a look at what the Blues’ current strongest XI and bench looks like to work out which positions still need strengthening this summer.

9. RM - Adrian Segecic
Segecic got the ball rolling this summer, making the move from Sydney FC. The versatile forward operates out wide and has the ability to cut in on his left foot. The 21-year-old has featured on the wing for the Sky Blues, but can also play in the attacking midfield role. 10. CAM - Callum Lang
It was superb to see Lang back before the end of the season following his hamstring injury, which was initially meant to rule him out for the campaign. He scored 10 goals despite the near three-month lay-off and will be back to his best at the start of next term. | Jason Brown/ProSportsImages
11. LM - Josh Murphy
The 30-year-old was voted The News/Sports Mail’s Player of the Season and deservedly so after an impressive maiden campaign at Fratton Park. He tormented Championship defences by using his pace and power to cause havoc. Murphy scored seven goals and registered 14 assists and was one of the best wingers in the second tier last term. | Jason Brown/ProSportsImages

12. ST - Colby Bishop
After his return from heart surgery in November, Bishop didn’t miss a game for the Blues and was one of the key reasons behind their change in form. He finished as Pompey’s top scorer for the third season in a row and nailed down the number nine role as his own. With Kusini Yengi, Mark O’Mahony and Christian Saydee all departing, that leaves only Thomas Waddingham as the only other option. A new back-up could be explored by Pompey this summer.
