After a quiet start to the summer, Pompey have kick-started their business with the arrival of Adrian Segecic.
The Australian under-23’s international becomes the Blues’ first signing of the window, penning a three-year deal at Fratton Park.
John Mousinho’s men paid a substantial compensation fee for the 21-year-old’s services following his departure from Sydney FC.
Although one new face has come through the doors at PO4, there has also been one emotional departure. Christian Saydee’s two-year stay on the south coast came to an end on Thursday after he made the switch to Wigan Athletic.
With plenty of incomings and outgoings expected over the remainder of the window, it’s still poised to be a busy summer as Pompey prepare for their second-successive Championship campaign.
But what still needs to be done?
Well, we’ve taken a look at what the Blues’ current strongest XI and bench looks like to work out which positions still need strengthening this summer.

5. CB - Regan Poole
It will be an interesting battle to see who partners Shaughnessy at the heart of defence, with Ibane Bowat and Hayden Matthews returning from long-term injuries. Poole signed a new two-year deal earlier in the year and will be hoping to fight off competition to retain his place in the side. Photo: Jason Brown
6. LB - Connor Ogilvie
With Jacob Farrell returning from injury, the battle for left-back will be on to keep an eye on. Ogilvie impressed and successfully made the step up to the Championship level, while also establishing an imposing relationship with Josh Murphy. 7. CM - Andre Dozzell
After Pompey triggered a 12-month option in his deal, the centre midfielder will remain at Fratton Park next term. Dozzell combined well with Freddie Potts last season, but will need to form a new partnership next season, with a move for the West Ham midfielder unlikely. Photo: Jason Brown

8. CM - Marlon Pack
Pack is currently the best option to partner Dozzell in the engine room following the departures of Potts and Isaac Hayden. Abdoulaye Kamara can also fill in but featured just five times in the Championship next season. Midfield will likely be top priority for Mousinho this summer, with at least two new faces needed. | Jason Brown/ProSportsImages
