Tyrese Shade blown away by 'amazing' Portsmouth team-mate after stunning Charlton performance
The Blues were held to a goalless draw at Charlton, representing successive clean sheets
Tyrese Shade hailed ‘amazing’ Conor Shaughnessy - then admitted he didn’t know too much about the centre-half before his Pompey arrival.
Shaughnessy and centre-half partner Benjy Arthur were outstanding in the Blues’ goalless draw at Charlton this afternoon.

With few goal-scoring opportunities at either end that warranted a winning team to be declared at The Valley, it was a day when John Mousinho’s defence were their best performers.
In particular, Shaughnessy, the Irishman who became Shade’s Fratton Park team-mate just a fortnight ago following his £1.8m transfer from Burton Albion.
And the attacker has already been hugely impressed with his new Pompey playing colleague.
Shade told The News: ‘Our two centre-halves were amazing, the same as last week. That’s two clean sheets in a row and they drive us boys higher up the pitch.
‘I know Shocks played for Burton and is good in both boxes, as we saw with my assist against Cardiff. I am a fairly new face in the group and I’m still getting to know a few, but he’s a solid centre-half.

‘He was amazing today and having Benjy next to him. He’s a young lad and Shocks probably makes Benjy’s job a lot easier with experience and leadership. It starts from the back and he kicks us all on.
‘Even though we don't get the goal at our end of the pitch, when you don’t get the win you look to keep a clean sheet and look to get a point - and we have done that today.’
Adrian Segecic had a great chance to win the game late on, while former Pompey winger Milli Alli blazed over from five yards for an improbable first-half miss.
Yet while Charlton dictated the first half, Mousinho’s men were far better after the break and the spoils were shared at the final whistle.
It means that’s now four points from Shade’s two matches as a Pompey player - with Blackburn’s trip to Fratton Park next on the horizon.
He added: ‘As professionals you have to look at the chances we’ve had and say potentially we could have taken them.
‘All said and done, though, we are away from home, it’s a good point. Of course it’s disappointing not to get the three points, it’s about taking one game at a time and we have Blackburn next.
‘Charlton have their own threats, a really big striker so they are direct, they are different from us in that their wingers pretty much stay high and wide, but we dealt with their threats really well, especially the boys at the back.’
