Swansea City boss leaves exit door open for £5m Portsmouth-linked winger after deadline day Fratton switch collapses
Pompey’s deadline day deal for Zeidane Inoussa collapsed before the window’s climax.
Swansea City boss Vitor Matos has left the exit door open for Zeidane Inoussa after his deadline day move to Fratton Park collapsed.
It was believed the winger would pen a season-long agreement at PO4 after falling out of favour with the Swansea boss.

Inoussa, who only made the £5m move to the Swansea.com Stadium in July 2025 from BK Hacken, had dropped down the Portuguese coach’s pecking order and was given the green light to depart along with ex-Fratton loanee Florian Bianchini and Ronald on the final day of the window.
He netted just one goal and collected two assists in 29 appearances for the Swans following his multi-million pound switch last summer and was sidelined for the second half of the campaign due to a back fracture.
A loan switch had reportedly been agreed between Pompey and their Championship rivals to bring the attacker to Fratton Park as John Mousinho looked to bolster his wide ranks.
But the move collapsed in the closing stages of the window, while Millwall’s £2m deal to sign Swans winger Ronald also fell through.
Swansea boss hoping to move winger on after Pompey deadline day move collapsed
And after Inoussa’s Fratton Park deal fell through, Matos is hoping to move the Sweden youth international on before the close of other foreign markets.
Speaking to Wales Online, the head coach said: ‘They (Zeidane Inoussa and Ronald) will be back in training.
‘They are part of the team until something happens. If it happens.
‘I'm still not able to control the world market. There are still a few open windows.’
Former Pompey loanee departs Swansea

Although Matos was unable to move Inoussa on before Tuesday’s deadline, Swansea were able to finalise an exit for the out-of favour Bianchini.
That followed a hugely disappointing loan stay at Fratton Park, where he failed to score or assist in any of his 11 outings last term.
A knee problem would subsequently sideline Bianchini from November for the remainder of the campaign and after returning to the Swans at the end of the season, was left out of their pre-season training camp in Austria.
The 25-year-old has since returned to his native France, joining Ligue 2 outfit Clermont on a season-long loan.
