Anticipation is building ahead of a hugely-important transfer window at Fratton Park.
It’s expected to be busy on the south coast, with incomings and outgoings on the cards as John Mousinho primes his squad for the Blues’ third-successive Championship campaign.
And while some have already been shut down - others have a bit more credence.
We’ve taken a look at what Pompey’s starting XI and bench could look after the market closes on September 1 if that speculation was true.
Here’s what that new-look 20-man squad could look like.

9. RW: Keshi Anderson
Pompey fans didn't get to see the best in Anderson following his January arrival due to two hamstring issues. When fit, the 30-year-old could fill the current void on the right-wing, which will no doubt be a key area for the Blues to strengthen this summer. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

10. CAM: Adrian Segecic
Segecic enjoyed a brilliant maiden campaign on the south coast, netting 11 Championship goals. The Blues are bracing for some interest in the 22-year-old, who still has two years to run on his Fratton Park deal. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

11. LW: Josh Murphy
A frustrating campaign for Muprhy, who suffered a number of different injury issues. Despite his set-backs, the dangerman still accumulated seven assists in the Championship - the most of anyone at Fratton Park last term. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

12. ST: Aribim Pepple
The Plymouth Argyle striker is on Pompey's radar this summer, although the Blues do have a lengthy centre-forward shopping list. Pepple netted 16 goals in League One last term and is said to have Championship interest ahead of the window. | Getty Images
