Anticipation is building ahead of a hugely-important transfer window at Fratton Park.
It’s expected to be busy on the south coast, with incomings and outgoings on the cards as John Mousinho primes his squad for the Blues’ third-successive Championship campaign.
And while some have already been shut down - others have a bit more credence.
We’ve taken a look at what Pompey’s starting XI and bench could look after the market closes on September 1 if that speculation was true.
Here’s what that new-look 20-man squad could look like.

5. CB: Luke Graham
The Dundee defender has been heavily linked with a move to Fratton Park this summer. The News understands the 22-year-old has 43 clubs tracking him, although his preference is a move to the Championship. Pompey, of course, had several bids knocked back by the Scottish side in January. | SNS Group

6. LB: Connor Ogilvie

7. CM: Gibson Yah
Pompey are reportedly in advanced talks to sign the 22-year-old, who is expected to be available on a free transfer due to a relegation clause in his FC Volendam contract. Yah is a dominant and physical holding midfielder - a position Mousinho is targeting in the window. | UGC

8. CM: Ebou Adams
Adams is poised to be a regular operator in Mousinho's engine room next term and will likely take up the number eight role. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages
