Report: Portsmouth defender Jordan Williams to join League One Blackpool as loan deal 'agreed'
Jordan Williams has registered 53 appearances for Pompey during a two-year stay.
Jordan Williams is reportedly poised to complete his Fratton Park exit.
That’s according to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, who has claimed the right-back is closing in on a switch to League One Blackpool.
The report has revealed Ian Evatt’s side have ‘agreed’ a deal to sign the out-of-favour defender, who is expected to pen a season-long loan deal at Bloomfield Road.
While Williams’ exit is only on a temporary basis it could spell the end of his Fratton Park career as he enters the final 12 months of his three-year deal.
The former Barnsley man, who was the Blues’ first signing following their return to the Championship in the summer of 2024, has amassed 53 appearances in all competitions during his two-year stay.
However, the 26-year-old struggled for regular minutes in the second-tier last term, with 18 of his 30 league appearances coming from the start.
In June, The News understood Williams did have interest from League One and in the Championship as he was looking to secure more regular game time in the new season.
The right-back is now closing in on his Fratton Park exit as he edges towards a season-long loan deal at Bloomfield Road.
After an underwhelming campaign in League One, which saw Evatt’s side finish 13th, the Pompey full-back is poised to become Blackpool’s third signing of the summer, joining, Huddersfield Town’s Dion Charles, Exeter City’s Ilmari Niskanen and Charlton Athletic’s Karoy Anderson.
Pompey exits imminent

After the arrivals of six new faces at Fratton Park this summer, work is well-underway in shifting some players from Mousinho’s squad.
Following the Blues’ defeat to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, the head coach hinted at the possibility of some exits this week as transfer activity at PO4 continues to ramp up.
Speaking to BBC Radio Solent, he said: ‘We've finished the game with a centre-back playing left wing and a left-back triallist playing right wing, and really filling bits in here and there.
‘So, it's one of those where we want to make sure we can fulfil these fixtures. But yeah, if there's anything that pops up for any of the boys, I think this week really is probably the week where we can start moving things.
‘There's definitely room where we need to shift a few on and make a bit of space in the squad.
‘I expect and I'm hopeful that we'll have a couple of moving parts this week.’
